Nature has always been my passion since I was a little girl and I was lucky because my dad loved travelling so that means I got to tag along in most of his adventures. Growing up, or rather, becoming an adult did not change my passion and having my own hard earned cash made it even easier to travel. I finally got to visit South Africa, which is known to have no shortage of destinations.

Kruger National Park is known to be home to the big five; lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and leopards. I got a chance to see these magnificent animals which happen to be very well protected within their natural surroundings.

The elephants, rhinos and buffaloes were bigger than any I’ve ever seen and the lions and leopards were in great shape. I’m talking about masculinity here, people.

I got a chance to visit more sites like the Drakensberg, a mountain paradise which has more than 600 rock art sites and the environment is very good for hiking. The Cape Winelands was a spectacular site and I got a chance to sample the excellent wines offered at the restaurants.

The south east coast from Mossel Bay has spectacular coastal scenery and the town of Knysna is surrounded by indigenous forests and rivers.

The experience in Garden Route National Park was just amazing and it made me appreciate nature even more

The beautiful sunset was always something to look forward to every single evening. Looking at the natural rays as the sun sunk beyond the horizon was more than amazing. If only it were possible to pause time and relive all those wonderful moments again.

South Africa is known for its cultural diversity. It is home to the locals whose ancestors have lived there for generations, Europeans who have been migrating to this beautiful country since it was discovered and many more people from all over the world.

Majority of the people are blacks and some of them live in urban areas while a bigger percentage live in the rural areas. It is through those who live in rural areas that their culture is preserved and passed down from generation to generation.

One particular tribe was particularly intriguing to me, the Khoisan. They are known to speak in click sounds but the fact that this tribe is becoming extinct is rather sad. This particular community was known to move from one place to another in search for food and better pasture and they lived in large groups, mostly comprising of family members. They were hunters and gatherers.

My personal experience in South Africa was marvelous. Everything was breathtaking and if I get another chance to go back there, I would not hesitate. This wonderful experience would not have been possible were it not for the great discount offers I got due to using coupons which I got from and also the affordable prizes offered by internationally recognized companies such as Yatra stores and They made my dream of travelling to South Africa a reality and affordable.
